The Story of the Blues

February 1st,2018 | 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Professor/Instructor/Speaker: Charles Brock, M.Litt.

What better way to tell the history of American blues than through the music itself!? That is the mission of the Rev. Charles Brock and musicians Jim Cuneo and Pat Cuneo when they present “Story of the Blues.” The Blues, a uniquely American musical form, developed in the late 19th century from religious and cross-cultural influences in the Deep South, in major cities and from a variety of musical traditions that included African-American work songs, spirituals and folk music. Bring in February at the Jefferson by helping us sing the blues.
