Mobility and Function Through the Adult Years

August 1st,2017 | 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Professor/Instructor/Speaker: Joshua Tuck

Joshua Tuck, DO, will discuss how a focus on exercise and nutrition can improve muscle strength and bone health. Most people, as they grow older, realize they need to take steps to avoid future impairments that would limit their mobility. Taking part in meaningful activities and running daily errands are key elements to achieving a satisfying life and, as such, new programs that promote good health and prevent premature disease and disability are targeting baby boomers. Dr. Tuck’s presentation will address treatments for arthritis and ways to achieve better mobility and independence. Dr. Tuck is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at LECOM Health. A former flight surgeon in the United States Navy, Dr. Tuck also served on the medical staff of the Boston Red Sox Major League Baseball organization and was a member of the NASA Shuttle Operations Medical Support Team. Dr. Tuck is a former team doctor for the Erie Otters and Erie Explosion, and is currently the team sports surgeon for the Erie Bayhawks, Mercyhurst University and several area high schools.
