Lecturers at the Jefferson Educational Society

Hon. McLaughlin serves as Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Erie Insurance, joining the organization August 2013. He was sworn in as a United States District Judge for the Western District of Pennsylvania in October 1994 and completed his tenure on the Court as Chief Judge. While on the bench, McLaughlin served as Chair of the Court Governance and Magistrate Committees and also served on a Committee of the Judicial Conference of the United States. McLaughlin has lectured frequently for the Erie County Bar Association, the Allegheny County Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on a wide variety of topics concerning federal, criminal and civil practice.
