What's Really Happening at the Erie International Airport?

In 2020, everything about the airline business changed, and those changes impacted airports like ERI, the most. With increases in the cost of fuel, pilots, maintenance, mechanics, equipment, aircraft, and every other operational cost associated with running an airline (including the cost of a bag of peanuts), the main line and ultra-low-cost carriers left nearly 100 airports with less – and in many cases – no air service. During this Community Conversation, Erie Regional Airport Authority Board Vice President Brian Slawin will outline "What's Happening at ERI" and what the ERAA, ERI, the Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership, plus public and private business partners, are doing to secure More Planes to More Places. Slawin will also address the "5 Big Airport Questions" everyone wants the answers to and the role of the $1.5 million Fly Erie Fund. As a critical lynchpin driving the economic future of Erie, an enhancement to air service will allow future passengers to "Look at Erie First" for the best and least expensive flights.
