What Happens when Veins Struggle to Return Blood to the Heart and What to Do About It?

Arteries and veins and the highlights leading from and to the heart. The latter mostly work to return deoxygenated blood from body tissue back to the heart. But what happens when veins in the legs have trouble sending that blood back? That is a common condition known as venous insufficiency. Why does this matter, what should you know, and what can be done for those experiencing venous insufficiency? Join Dr. James Lin, director of the LECOM Institute for Successful Aging and Vice President of Senior Services and Adult Living, as he explores this topic and addresses those questions.

James  Lin

James Lin, D.O. is the Director of the LECOM Institute for Successful Aging and Vice President of Senior Services and Adult Living. Dr. Lin developed LECOM’s geriatrics service line, which provides care to older adults across the full continuum of the aging process. Dr. Lin is a clinical professor of Internal Medicine at LECOM and is the Course Director for Geriatrics. He also is the program director for the Geriatrics Medicine Fellowship. He served as Chief of Staff at Millcreek Community Hospital. He is a graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
