Trapped in Poverty: Accessibility, Availability, and Income in Erie County

During the seven-month-long Civic Leadership Academy, the cohort applied
the lessons learned from the program to a group-action project to address
poverty in Erie County. The group created a Community Poverty Index and
worked to identify and address structural impediments to elevating the
economic status of those living in poverty through an examination of income
in various ZIP codes throughout the county. This presentation will explore the
CPI and more. The document the group produced will be available at the
