What is April 1? Yes, it's April Fool's Day, but in 2020 it's also Census Day. But
how and why did the Census begin? How is data collected, and what is it used
for? What languages will the Census be available in, and how many different
ways can the Census be taken? Why is the Decennial Census so important to
us? What is the role of a Partnership Specialist in this process? Join Nancy
Agostine, a Partnership Specialist, as she answers these questions and more
in this special public presentation.

Nancy Agostine is a Partnership Specialist with the U.S. Census Bureau’s Philadelphia
Regional Census Center, which includes the three counties she currently serves:
Erie and Crawford Counties in Pennsylvania and Ashtabula County in Ohio. She
is a graduate of Mercyhurst University with degrees in Business Administration
and Management. A lifelong resident of Erie County, Nancy spent 23 years in
local government as Director of Land Development, Zoning and Public Relations
for Summit Township, where she has lived with her husband, Barry, since 1985.
From 2012-2017 Nancy also served as one of three elected Township Supervisors in
Summit. Agostine is enjoying using her extensive network in Erie County to promote
the 2020 Census, while developing new networks in Crawford and Ashtabula
Counties to do the same. It is her goal to build hundreds of partnerships across
government, nonprofit, corporate, and faith-based and community organizations to
spread the Census message and mobilize these partners to support the goal of a fair
and accurate count.
