When Corry Led the Leather Tanning Industry
Corry was once home to a thriving leather tanning industry. This lecture will cover an overview of the smaller tanneries in the area, Corry's most famous Hide and Leather manufacturer, the individuals behind the successful tannery industry, and the success of Howard Tannery around the world, and the end of the tannery era in Corry.

Alisa Puckly is a local business owner who grew up in Corry. Over the years a love for genealogy and local history has led her to become a lifetime member of the Corry Area Historical Society eleven years ago. During this time, she served as president, treasurer, executive board member, and event planner, and is presently curator for the Society’s museum. She is also very active in helping Veil Maternity Hospital adoptees find their biological family through DNA. This work has led to speaking engagements and newspaper interviews over the years. She has found all local history fascinating and loves sharing it with others.
