Preserving Blues and Jazz in Erie: Examining the Past, Experiencing the Present, and Imagining the Future

Blues and jazz and the Erie Blues and Jazz Festival have a deep history in Erie, Pennsylvania. Join Tim Bruno, the board chair of the 2025 festival, along with John Vanco, the original architect of the Erie Blues and Jazz Festival; Erie-based journalist and Blues and Jazz Fest Board Member Tanya Teglo; and Rob Hoff and Gary Finney, hosts of "JazzFlight" and "The Third Set," respectively, on WQLN Public Media, as they explore the history of blues and jazz in Erie (including the role of the famed Pope Hotel); the festival's evolution; and how the beat of blues and jazz goes on in Erie year-round.
