No 'Exit' in Brexit: Negotiations Continue Two Years Later
It's been more than two years since the "Withdrawal Agreement" went into effect making the UK's departure from the European Union official. "Official" doesn't mean "done" though. Negotiations continue between the two entities as they try to work out final details of the often-messy divorce. Northern Ireland continues to be the largest sticking point and there is not a clear end in sight. Boris Johnson, the UK Prime Minister and a vocal supporter of "get Brexit done now," is losing the support of his own party. In the midst of this, businesses are trying to keep viable. Most of the time, they can adapt to changes. But in this case, the rules of the game continue to be unclear making it extremely difficult to adjust and help maneuver the economy back to strength. Business was dealt a significant body blow by Brexit. And before they could regain their stance, they've been dealt two more blows by the pandemic and now by the Ukraine war.
