Navigating the Caregiving Role

Being the caretaker of a loved one is an act of compassion and appreciation – but it can also be challenging for all parties involved. Belinda Stillman, D.O., a psychiatrist at LECOM Behavioral Health, explores how to navigate the caregiving role, including understanding the responsibilities and challenges of the role, its mental and physical toll on the caregiver, and how to prioritize self-care and establish a support network. Navigating the caregiving role requires not only care for the loved one, but also care for yourself.
