Professor/Instructor/Speaker: Michael Malthaner

Echoes of the Deep – The Music of Titanic – This lecture will be an interactive presentation of the music of the era surrounding the great ship TITANIC, including samples of music that would have been heard on the decks during its sailing.  The cultures of different places around the world influenced the music played on the Titanic and examples of this music will be presented.  Cast members from the local production of "TITANIC - THE MUSICAL" will be on hand to demonstrate the kinds of music that are included in the Broadway show score, which also hearken back to the music actually heard on the ship.
