East Erie Satellite: Futuremakers: How Every Community Member Can Help Build What Comes Next

August 13th,2026 | 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Speaker: Brian Slawin, B.S.

Innovation doesn't belong only to startups, institutions, or big companies; Innovation belongs to all of us! This 3rd session explores how community members, educators, employers, students, policymakers, nonprofits, investors and neighbors can participate in and benefit from innovation driven growth. We'll discuss pathways for engagement, workforce opportunities, entrepreneurship, mentoring, investment and civic collaboration as well as explore how Northwest PA can write the next great chapter in our shared story and do so, together. This final seminar explores how civic leaders, educators and residents can apply innovative thinking to community and economic development. Through storytelling and audience interaction, participants will learn how to harness creativity, problem-solving and design thinking to shape the Erie of the future. This session closes the series by helping residents see themselves as co-authors in the region's next chapter of ingenuity, creativity and possibility.
