Connecting Erie: an Overview of High-Speed Passenger Rail Planning for Erie County, PA

This presentation explores Erie County's future of high-speed passenger rail options.  The overview will begin by taking a brief look at the history of passenger rail in Erie County.  Then, to understand the present, the talk will note some key players making forward strides related to high-speed passenger rail projects locally, regionally, and nationally.  To conclude, a summary of foreseeable action steps will be discussed regarding how to make interconnected, high-speed passenger rail a reality for Erie County within the next few decades.

Corinne ThomasM.P.A.

Corinne J. Thomas, M.P.A., is a Mental Health Clinical Team Leader at the Erie County Department of Human Services where she collaborates within her team, across system partners, and with contracted providers to administer an array of services to support those experiencing challenges related to mental health, housing, and early development. Corinne serves as a lead delegate as well; hearing 302 involuntary petitions, to assist those experiencing mental health emergencies. Prior to her current role, Corinne worked in administration related to Drug/Alcohol Prevention, Opioid Use Disorder Grant Management, and Quality Management. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation, minoring in Sociology. In 2010, Corinne earned a Master’s of Public Administration from Gannon University. She participated in the Jefferson Educational Society’s 2021 Leadership Academy & 2021/22 Raimy Fellowship.
