American Short Stories: The Granta Book of the American Short Story, Vol. 2, ed. Richard Ford, 2007 Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m., beginning Sept. 15 and concluding Oct. 13
We will read a selection of stories by American writers, including those in the Granta book, as well as recent stories from The New Yorker in the public domain. Editor Richard Ford believes the work of these contemporary authors “continues to renew itself and to make a significant and lasting contribution to our literature.” Open discussion is encouraged.

Marjorie Podolsky is a retired senior lecturer in English from Penn State--Behrend College, where she taught writing and literature courses and published academic articles for Salem Press. She is an active volunteer in the literary, music, and arts community in Erie and a member of two writing groups. The Springhill Writing Group, which she facilitates, recently published a chapbook of their writing, In Our Own Words.
