District Attorney Jack Daneri will provide an overview and update of
Erie's 3-prong Violence Reduction Initiative, 'UnifiedErie.'" In addition to
highlighting the initiative's progress and outcomes over the past 8 years, DA
Daneri will focus on the Re-Entry prong of UnifiedErie, and how the ECRSSA
(Erie County Re-Entry Services and Support Alliance) has changed the lives of
those returning from prison to our community, and why it's such a vital part of
where criminal justice is headed.

Jack Daneri, D.A., was born and raised in New Jersey, Jack attended Allegheny
College, graduating in 1981 with a degree in speech/television communications. He
worked in broadcast and cable television from 1981 through 1987. He then enrolled
at Capital University School of Law in 1987, graduating with a Juris Doctorate in
1990. Beginning his legal career as a law clerk, Jack then went into private practice,
focusing on criminal law and workers compensation litigation. He joined the District
Attorney’s office in 2000, and was appointed District Attorney in 2009 upon the
passing of Brad Foulk. He was elected to a four-year term in 2011, and reelected in
2015 and 2019. As District Attorney, Jack helped initiate or has participated in critical
programs including: UnifiedErie--the county’s group violence reduction strategy,
which includes the data-driven “Call-In” program; Erie Gun Task Force; the Police/
Community Relations Group; outreach to middle and high school students on the
consequences of cyber-bullying and sexting; the county-wide distribution of opioid
reversal drug naloxone to law enforcement officers; and law enforcement education,
providing legal and practical updates to police in crucial areas of prosecution
preparation. Jack remains active in and supports many organizations and community
groups, including: Erie County Heroin Task Force; Erie’s Youth Leadership Institute;
Erie County Truancy Task Force; Hooked on Books for Kids; Erie Boys & Girls Club;
P.A.L.(Police Athletic League); ECRSSA (Erie County Reentry Services & Support
Alliance), which works to assist those returning to society from incarceration.
