GREAT BOOKS: Happiness and Discontent

The reading selections in Happiness and Discontent have been chosen to stimulate lively discussion. The collections brings together works from around the world that to each of us and to each other on a theme of universal human significance. Authors include Aristotle on the nature of happiness, as well as drama by Shakespeare, poetry by Dickenson and contemporary fiction. The class will meet weekly for 8 weeks.

Corrine Egan, B.A.

Corrine Egan has served as Executive Director for the NW PA Labor-Management Council and director of Special Events and Community Education at Mercyhurst University. She graduated from Mercyhurst with a business degree in 1980. She has served on the Board of Trustees for Metro Health Center, as a commissioner for the NW Regional Planning Commission, and is a past member of the Pennsylvania Commission for Women.
