Good Hunting: An American Spymaster's Story

Jack Devine - former CIA Deputy Director of Operations, and Vernon Loeb - Managing Director of the Houston Chronicle, will discuss Devine's recently released book (Good Hunting) which deals with CIA and Covert Action in the past, present, and future. They will discuss the use of Covert Action from the times of President Lyndon Johnson until today. It will include discussions about the overthrow of Chilean President Allende, the Iran Contra Affair, the effort to drive the Russians out of Afghanistan in the 1980s as well as recent activities In Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Ukraine. Jack Devine

Jack Devine is a thirty-two-year veteran of the Central Intelligence Agency, where he rised to become the acting deputy director of operations, responsible for all of the CIA’s spying operations. He is also a founding partner and the president of The Arkin Group, an international risk consulting and intelligence firm. He lives in New York City.
