Erie’s Immigration: Change Makers or Threats to the Status Quo?

September 26th,2017 | 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Professor/Instructor/Speaker: Charles Brock, M.Litt.

Where would Erie be without immigrants? The answer is simple: There would be no City of Erie, and the County would be a dense forest. Immigrants and refugees – we – have shaped and built our communities in manifold ways throughout the centuries. This lecture invites people of all ages and backgrounds to explore and discuss the influence of major and minor immigration to Erie and its legacy. We will look into recent immigration and the challenges and opportunities for both the newcomers and Erie’s education, economy, and demographics.
