In 2004 a small group of Pittsburghers gathered to start City of Asylum on Pittsburgh’s Northside, to provide a safe house for a writer exiled under threat of persecution. This is the story of how City of Asylum evolved and grew, to be declared “the model for the world.”
Mr. Reese is co-founder of City of Asylum, which was created in 2004. From 1974 until 2002, he was an entrepreneur, when he sold his business interests. He is on the board of the International Cities of Refuge Network. He has a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and was ABD in English at SUNY Buffalo.
